CoolTouch® Endovenous Laser Ablation
The CoolTouch® CTEV laser has a 1320 nm wavelength, which has been found to be the most comfortable and EFFECTIVE laser treatment for varicose veins. With the CoolTouch CTEV, a small single needle incision is made in the leg and the fibre is inserted into the varicose vein. The laser is activated and as the fibre is moved through the vein it gently heats and safely closes the vein. Once the vein is closed, the blood that was circulating through this vein is simply re-routed to other healthy veins and the varicose vein essentially vanishes. Sclerotherapy
Sclerotherapy is the standard treatment for varicose and spider veins. A special sclerosing solution is injected into the vein, which then collapses and is gradually absorbed by the body. Sclerotherapy also relieves symptoms associated with enlarged veins such as aching and throbbing of the legs and prevents further complications.
Ambulatory Phlebectomy
Microphlebectomy, sometimes called ambulatory phlebectomy, is a minimally invasive method of treating small varicose veins. A special hook is used to remove the vein through multiple tiny incisions that do not usually require stitches and leave minimal scarring. Recent advances have made it possible to perform the procedure using only local anesthesia and light sedation in a doctor’s office as an outpatient. After the microphlebectomy you will be asked to wear compression garments temporarily. The incisions typically heal within two weeks.
